In fact, hemp chiffon has nothing to do with hemp... Hemp is just a way of weaving yarn. In fact, this kind of fabric is usually a blend of polyester and nylon. Generally speaking (note! Not all! Just most) it is thinner, the yarn is also finer, it may pill, and the surface feels a bit numb. The degree of spinning is medium, and it may hardly spin depending on the process. Pearl chiffon is a common fabric for many shirt petticoats. It is thin and droopy, and it feels a little cool when it touches the skin. It feels sandy and grainy. It feels a little more numb than hemp chiffon and is not easy to spin.

2. Man-made fibers (so-called chemical fibers)

Tencel: A patented artificial fiber, it is comfortable, soft and has a good drape. Generally speaking, it is easy to draw silk, and the higher the Tencel content, the easier it is. Polyester: It is polyester fiber. Polyester or fabrics with a high polyester content are more wear-resistant, wrinkle-resistant and not easy to deform, but they are not breathable and have poor moisture absorption, so they are prone to static electricity and pilling. Polyester fabrics can evolve into 10,000 different forms based on the craftsmanship and weaving methods, so it is a bit unfair to just say 100% polyester... After all, there is no way to touch the fabric of the skirt before making a decision.

Sunshine Linen: A type of random linen chiffon, the main component of which is polyester. It is also easier to spin and may also pill.

3. Natural Fibers

Cotton: I don't need to say much about this fabric, everyone knows a little bit about it. Even if they are all pure cotton fabrics, they will be quite different depending on the craftsmanship (nonsense), but if you take very detailed pictures, everyone should be able to imagine what the fabric looks like. And what I want to say is that in blended fabrics (see the next category "blended fabrics"), the higher the cotton content, the better the breathability, but it is also easier to wrinkle, and it is not as straight and shiny. Pure cotton fabrics do not pill, and unless they are very thin, they are not easy to draw.

4. Blended

Polyester-cotton blend: literally means, the specifics depend on the composition ratio and weaving method. If the cotton content is higher, it is easier to wrinkle and more breathable and comfortable. If the polyester content is higher, it is more straight and less prone to wrinkling, but it will pill. See the above characteristics of cotton and polyester. Polyester-cotton blend can be said to be a fabric I like very much. It is relatively balanced in all aspects and is not easy to draw silk. It is also not expensive. The disadvantage is that it may pill. If you see a small skirt with daily wear made of this fabric and the picture effect is good, I think it is worth considering.

Tencel cotton: There are actually two types of Tencel cotton. One is to weave Tencel yarn and cotton yarn together (interweaving), and the other is to directly mix Tencel and cotton into one yarn and then weave (blended spinning). This sounds complicated, but I think you will understand it if I say this: the lining of the skirt is generally interwoven Tencel cotton because it looks a bit like nylon, and the fabric may be blended Tencel cotton because it looks more like cotton. It does not pill, but there is a possibility of spinning.

Cotton and linen blended fabric: It has the characteristics of both cotton and linen. It is very breathable and moisture-absorbent, and it is not as soft and sagging as pure cotton. However, it is easy to wrinkle. Generally, it is not easy to get filaments. It is more commonly used in small skirts with country CLA style and Chinese style.

Fabrics that are easy to spin include: various chiffons (including random linen, sunshine linen, etc.), Tencel, and Tencel cotton.

Fabrics that are prone to pilling include: fabrics mainly made of chemical fibers such as polyester, and polyester-cotton blends.

Fabrics that wrinkle easily include: cotton, linen, and fabrics with a high cotton and linen content.

1. Use cold water to wash, the water temperature should not be higher than 45°C, and wash dark and light colored lolita skirts separately to avoid staining.

2. The soaking time should not be too long. Be as gentle as possible during the rinsing process and never wring the skirt.

3. Do not use a washing machine to dehydrate or spin dry, and do not wring it too hard. It is best to hang it on the reverse side and let it drip dry naturally.

4. When drying the skirt, the printed side should be facing inwards. Choose a dark and ventilated place to dry it in reverse. Be careful not to expose it to the sun, or it will fade.
