What is eyelash primer for? What is the difference between eyelash primer and mascara?

Many girls are familiar with eyelash primer. Usually they will apply a layer of eyelash primer before applying mascara. However, many people do not know what eyelash primer is used for. So what is eyelash primer for? What is the difference between eyelash primer and mascara?

What is eyelash primer for?

Mascara primer is mainly used for shaping and thickening. The main function of mascara primer is to relieve the clumsy hands of those makeup novices or girls who are not good at brushing mascara. Mascara primer contains setting liquid and some white fibers, which can make the eyelashes longer when brushing the eyelashes later, and can create beautiful eyelashes with curled and distinct roots. However, primer is not necessary. For those whose eyelashes are already thick and curled, this thing is simply redundant. As long as you apply mascara carefully, it will be beautiful enough. When applying mascara primer, use mascara to apply eyelashes, brush from the root of the eyelashes upwards, and keep the brush for a longer time. When applying mascara primer to the tail of the eyelashes, the amount should be appropriately reduced to make the eyelashes appear more natural.

The difference between eyelash primer and mascara

Most eyelash primers are white, while most mascaras are black or brown. The two have roughly the same function, but eyelash primers also have a shaping effect. Eyelash primers and mascara can be used together, or you can use only one product. Eyelash primers are usually white and contain a lot of white fibers. These fibers will adhere to the eyelashes and become transparent or translucent after a while. Eyelash primers can make eyelashes look thicker and curled, and at the same time, they can shape the curl of eyelashes so that eyelashes will not fall down all day. However, the thickening and lengthening effects of eyelash primers are not as good as mascara. If you want to create a more delicate and spiritual eye makeup effect, you still need the help of mascara. The fibers in mascara are generally brown or black. Different mascara brushes have different effects. Some focus on thickening and curling, some focus on lengthening, and some focus on naturalness. Mascara with an oversized boar bristle brush can make eyelashes look more curled and natural, but there is a risk of fly legs. A mascara with a tapered brush can naturally curl the eyelashes at the end of the eye. A mascara with a curved spiral brush can curl both the beginning and the end of the eye at the same time. A mascara with a sea urchin brush is more suitable for brushing the eyelashes at the beginning and end of the eye and the lower eyelashes.

How to use eyelash primer correctly

1. Before applying mascara, use an eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes. Start from the root of the eyelashes and curl them 2-3 times, then curl the middle of the eyelashes, and finally the outer ends. Use light and even force when using the eyelash curler to avoid unnatural vertical angles.

2. Take out the mascara brush by rotating it left and right, and press it on the bottle mouth to remove excess mascara.

3. Look down slightly and brush the upper half of the eyelashes, then look up and brush the inner half of the eyelashes close to the eyes. When brushing the eyelashes, brush from the root of the eyelashes outward and upward, and then use a Z-shaped brush. The mascara stays on the root for a little longer, and the amount applied to the tail should be less.

4. When brushing the lower eyelashes, adjust the mascara to a vertical position and brush each eyelash one by one, first from the beginning of the eye to the end of the eye, then from the end of the eye to the beginning of the eye, and repeat 1-2 times.

5. When brushing your eyelashes, use your other hand to help open your eyelids. Do not blink after brushing and wait for 15 seconds to avoid contamination.

6. Apply the second layer of eyelashes after the first layer is dry, otherwise it will clump. Once this happens, quickly comb the eyelashes one by one with an eyelash comb.

7. After applying mascara, if you want to enhance the curl, wait until your eyelashes are completely dry before curling them.

Is eyelash primer necessary?

There is no rule that you must apply it. It varies from person to person. If you want your eyelashes to be long and curled after brushing, then it is best to apply a layer of primer. If you do not have this requirement, you can only apply a layer of mascara according to your preferences and habits. The effect will be better after applying the primer. Girls who love beauty should still apply it. Use the eyelash primer first, then the mascara. Both products are eyelash modification products, and their functions are similar. They both make the eyelashes thin, long, and thick, thereby magnifying the eyes.
