How to iron a T-shirt and how to control the temperature when ironing

Ironing clothes can make them smoother and better to wear. Nowadays, many people are accustomed to ironing their clothes before wearing them. However, you should pay attention to whether the clothes can be ironed when ironing.

How to iron a T-shirt

Step 1: The most important thing is to spread out the clothes and fully unfold them, so that the T-shirt is flat. Then you should start from the front, and slowly iron from the shoulder to the corner of the T-shirt. Before ironing, you should check the label first, because different fabrics have different ironing temperatures~

Step 2: I just did a simple ironing. Formal ironing should be done on the back and front of the collar first. Just slightly iron the edge of the collar, otherwise it will easily deform (but if it is already wrinkled, you can wet it and iron it a few more times, maybe it can be restored), and then iron the back.

Step 3: After that, it is time to iron the sleeves. You can open the cuffs first, then iron the inside, then iron the back and front. Iron the back first.

How to control the temperature when ironing

Generally, the ironing temperature will be indicated on the label of the T-shirt, or the temperature can be set according to the fabric. Cotton and 100% linen T-shirts can be ironed at high temperatures, while wool and cotton blended fabrics can be ironed at medium temperatures. However, other fabrics, such as polyester, nylon, silk, etc., can only be ironed at low temperatures.

Can T-shirts be ironed?

In general, T-shirts can be ironed, but before ironing, we must first understand the fabric of the T-shirt. Because some fabrics have temperature requirements when ironing. Some natural fiber T-shirts, such as silk and wool, cannot be ironed at high temperatures, but cotton and linen are fine. Some fabrics will change color if they are ironed directly. Just cover them with another piece of cloth and then iron them, and it will not be affected. If you want your clothes to look good and wrinkle-free, ironing is indeed the best way. But in fact, there is a trick to ironing clothes like T-shirts, which is to put a wet cloth on the clothes. Because if you iron a dry T-shirt directly, not only will the wrinkles not be ironed flat, but the clothes will also be damaged. After using a wet cloth to pad it, it will not only protect the T-shirt from damage, but also make it very flat.

How to remove the printing on the surface of T-shirt

1. Use banana water.

Apply banana water evenly on the back of the print, then remove the print. Repeat this process to remove it. If there are any traces, wipe them clean with banana water on a clean cloth. Screen printing is a common T-shirt printing method. It has a simple operation process and is easy to print. It is suitable for printing on many printing materials. For example, there are water slurry printing, glue printing, hot stamping printing, flocking printing, etc.

2. Water slurry printing

Water-based printing paste is soluble in water and the paste itself is relatively thin. When printing, the printing paste is evenly leaked through the mesh of the screen printing screen to the part that needs to be printed, so that the pattern can be printed on the T-shirt. Its characteristics are that only one color can be printed at a time. If you want to print the second color, you must wait until the previous color is dry before printing. No steaming and washing is required after printing; the advantage is that the fabric after printing has good air permeability. As long as it is not a large-scale field printing, it feels basically soft. If the resolution requirement is not too high, four-color dot printing can be done. The disadvantage is that this printing paste is not suitable for printing on dark fabrics. One point that needs to be specially explained: color fastness is related to the color depth of the printed pattern. The lighter the color, the better the color fastness, and vice versa.

3. Glue printing

The basic process is the same as water-based printing, except that the material used is glue pigment that will solidify on the fabric after drying, a bit like a plaster sticking to the skin. Its characteristic is that it can only print one color at a time. If you want to print the second color, you must wait until the previous color is dry before printing; because the glue is opaque, it can print light-colored patterns on dark fabrics, but its air permeability is poor and it is not suitable for large-area solid pattern printing. For patterns with scattered flowers or lines that are not too rough, it can show its excellent performance. At present, the most common printed T-shirts on the market are mostly printed with glue.

4. Foam printing

T-shirt foam printing, also known as three-dimensional printing, is developed on the basis of the glue printing process. Its principle is to add a certain amount of high expansion coefficient chemical substances to the glue printing slurry, commonly known as foaming slurry. After the printed part is baked at low temperature, it is pressed and bubbled at 130-150℃. To achieve a three-dimensional effect similar to relief, the foam printing process can be made into high, medium and low foaming according to the specific requirements of the customer. The biggest advantage of the foam printing process is that it has a strong three-dimensional sense, and the printed surface is prominent and expanded. This printing process is widely used on various knitting fabrics.
