How to care for tattoos during peeling period Precautions before and after tattoos

Tattoo is something that many young people like to do nowadays. Tattoo is to create some patterns or words on our skin. Many people think it looks good. After tattooing, there will be a period of recovery.

How to care for your tattoo during peeling

The tattoo cannot be torn off by hand during the peeling period. Do not eat spicy food, seafood and other irritating foods. Depending on the size of the pattern, scabs will begin to form 1-3 days after the tattoo. After the scabs form, the ointment needs to be stopped. At this time, the tattoo area will begin to itch. Remember not to scratch it with your hands, otherwise it will easily cause the pattern to fade and cause wound infection.

Things to note before getting a tattoo

1. Get enough sleep and have a good mental state;

2. Do not drink alcohol or take drugs;

3. If you haven't eaten for a long time, you must eat before tattooing to avoid fasting;

4. The tattooed area should not be damaged, broken, or exposed to the sun;

5. Try to wear loose clothes to expose the tattooed area.

Things to note after tattooing

1. Three to four hours after the tattoo is completed, clean the tattooed area with warm water, you can use bath lotion, and then dry it with a sanitary towel, keep it dry, and wash it every day. You can only take a shower, not a bath;

2. Do not apply any ointment other than tattoo ointment to avoid discoloration and destroying the overall beauty;

3. Do not swim, use sauna, sunbathe or go into the sea before the tattoo has healed.

4. It is normal for scabs, peeling and itching to appear within three to five days. Do not scratch or scratch. Wait for the scabs to fall off naturally.

5. If the tattoo is on a joint or a part that is easily stretched, be careful not to move too much when the scab forms to avoid the scab cracking and affecting the future appearance.

How to properly care for your tattoo

1. Remove the plastic wrap within three hours

Generally, right after a tattoo, the tattoo artist will wrap the tattoo with plastic wrap to prevent the tissue fluid from drying out too quickly. It is best to go home and wash it within three to four hours. Otherwise, the skin will be wrapped in plastic wrap for too long, causing the tattoo "wound" to fester due to lack of air permeability, with serious consequences.

2. Use warm water to clean the exudate

Some people think that it should not be washed and should be left to air dry, but it is just the opposite. You must wash after tattooing, and wash frequently before scabbing. The reason for washing is that tattoos themselves are a kind of wound. When the skin is damaged, blood and cell tissue fluid will ooze out. If it is not washed, the tissue fluid will accumulate layer by layer after it oozes out and dries, thus forming a thick scab. When the thick scab falls off, it will affect the effect of the tattoo pattern and may cause the tattoo to fade or seriously fade. Therefore, if you want to keep the pattern in the best condition as much as possible, washing after tattooing is a necessary procedure.

3. Use a clean tissue to dry the tattoo surface.

Use warm water to clean the tattoo. You can gently wipe the tattoo with your palm to remove the exuded blood and tissue fluid. After washing, gently dry it with a clean paper towel. After the skin is dry, apply a layer of repair cream, then wrap it up. After that, wash it every three to four hours and apply the repair cream. After cleaning before going to bed, you can wrap it with plastic wrap appropriately, go to bed, and continue to wash and apply after getting up. Keep doing this for three to five days until the tattoo peels off (the length of time it takes to peel off will vary depending on the individual's ability to adapt.

4. Scabs will form in 3-5 days and fall off in 5-7 days

(It varies from person to person, and different people have different skin types, so it may be earlier or later) After three to five days, the tattoo area will scab, feel tight, and the color of the tattoo will darken, which is normal. There will be pain and itchiness, so don't scratch or pick! Keep it off by itself, otherwise it will affect the tattoo effect and coloring. After the tattoo peels off, just keep the skin dry. If you wash it too much, it will be like the scab being soaked by water, which will also affect the color and effect of the pattern after it is restored. If the skin is too dry, you can apply some oily moisturizing lotion to moisturize the skin.

5. Avoid spicy food, tobacco, alcohol, beef, mutton and other irritating foods within one week.

6. Avoid sauna, swimming, and hot spring baths

Do not do strenuous exercise, do not let pets come into contact with the tattooed area, and do not expose the tattoo to the sun. You can take a short shower, but be sure to dry the skin afterwards to keep it dry.

7. Wear loose cotton and avoid extrusion or friction on the tattoo.

The speed of tattoo healing varies from person to person, which is normal. Don't be impatient. If you encounter any other problems, please consult your tattoo artist in time. During the recovery process, you must not scratch the peeled skin with your hands to prevent the bacteria from the nails from entering the skin and causing infection. In short, just don't move the tattooed area. Just bear with it for a good-looking pattern.
