How to wash the thick blanket at home? Can the thick blanket be washed in the washing machine?

1. Drying

First, place the blanket outside in an open area. Let it sit and dry for 1 to 2 hours. Use a clothes rail to tap the blanket and shake off dust. Pick out and remove any obvious impurities.

2. Soak

First prepare a larger basin. Then pour warm water at about 30°C. Then put the blanket in the basin to soak. After the blanket is fully soaked, let it sit for 30 minutes.

3. Cleaning

After all the impurities on the blanket have settled down. After changing the water, add the laundry detergent and stir well, then continue to soak for 15 minutes. If there are obvious stains on the blanket, clean it with a brush.

4. Clean gradually

Step on the wet blanket with your foot. Make sure every part of the blanket is soaked with detergent, then start stepping on it. Meanwhile, keep changing the water and continue washing. Rinse with clean water until the water that slowly washes the blanket runs clear.

The weight of clothes washed by a washing machine refers to the weight of dry clothes before washing. If the blanket is a thick and absorbent material, it is recommended to leave a certain amount of washing surplus and not to fill the barrel too full, otherwise it may affect the washing effect and increase the burden on the motor. As long as your blanket does not change too much when washing or drying, you can rest assured to wash it in the washing machine. On the contrary, if the blanket changes too much before and after the process, it is not suitable for washing in the washing machine. For example, pure wool blankets are not recommended for washing in a washing machine. If you don't know or can't know whether your good blanket will increase in size, then please wash it by hand. It may be more troublesome, but it is safer after all. To wash a large blanket, you generally need a drum washing machine of 8KG-10KG or more. But there is no need to buy such a large one, because even if the blanket can be machine washed, the machine washing effect is very poor. It is best to send it to dry cleaning. The dry cleaner will wash it very fluffy, and the blanket will not be washed many times a year. Moreover, drum washing machines of more than 8KG are expensive and have a low cost-effectiveness. Usually, a washing machine of 6-6.5KG is enough for home use.

Under normal circumstances, the basic weight of a blanket at home will not exceed 6gkg.
