What is the best way to wash cashmere sweaters? How to wash newly bought cashmere sweaters?

Cashmere sweaters are the most popular and beloved clothes in winter. Cashmere sweaters are very warm and made of good material, so they are usually sent to dry cleaners for cleaning or washed by hand.

What is the best way to wash cashmere sweaters?

Cashmere clothing is best washed with a special wool detergent, neutral detergent and softener are also acceptable. Prepare a basin of warm water, pour a little wool detergent into it and dissolve it, then soak the cashmere sweater in the water for 15 minutes. Wash the soaked cashmere sweater, and wash it thoroughly by squeezing or gently patting and rubbing it. Rinse it with clean water, and finally gently squeeze it dry, and put it in a ventilated place to dry, and do not expose it to the sun.

Can woolen clothes be machine washed?

It is best not to wash woolen clothes in a washing machine, as it is easy to deform woolen clothes because there will be pulling force during the washing process, which will loosen the wool fibers and damage the fabric, or even directly scrap it. In addition, when washing, you can only soak it in cold or warm water for a short time and then wash it immediately.

1. Pour enough warm water into the sink or bathtub to completely cover the sweater. Add soap flakes and wash with your hands. Soap flakes are easily soluble in water.

2. Put the sweater into the soapy water so that it is submerged. Gently rub the sweater fabric back and forth in the water for two to three minutes. Wipe the cuffs and neck more often, as these are the places that tend to get the dirtiest.

3. Drain the soapy water from the sink and rinse the sweater under warm water to thoroughly remove the soap residue on the sweater.

4. Fill the sink again with water and add 1/4 cup of color-safe bleach and the soap flakes. Using your hands, mix the water and dissolve the soap flakes.

5. Place the sweater in the water so that it is submerged. Gently rub the sweater fabric with sand to further clean the sweater. Rinse the sweater thoroughly in hot water, then immediately rinse the sweater in cold water.

6. Let the sweater drip dry for about 10 minutes. Then lay the sweater flat on a towel, roll up the towel tightly to remove excess water, and finally hang the sweater to dry.

Cleaning tips

Animal and vegetable oils: Wash with neutral detergent or special detergent for cashmere sweaters;

Coffee, black tea: Use a towel to soak in water and wring out to wipe it off immediately. If mate or milk is added, wipe it with a small amount of detergent. If it has been left there for a long time, wipe it with vinegar;

Ice cream: First use a small brush to brush off the dry parts, then use a brush dipped in detergent to brush gently (be careful not to brush away the pilling), and finally use a towel to wring out the water and wipe gently;

Milk and dairy products: First wipe gently with a cloth dipped in hot water, then wipe the remaining grease with detergent. If it still cannot be wiped off, try alcohol. After the dirt is cleaned, it still needs to be sent for dry cleaning;

Black juice: After wiping with thin paper, wipe it repeatedly with vinegar, or use oxalic acid;

Lipstick: First wipe it gently with a tissue paper facing downwards, then wipe it with lotion. Because the lipstick will get bigger the more you wipe it, you should wipe carefully from the outside to the inside;

Juice: When it is just stained, you can wipe it with a cloth dipped in warm water. If the stain still remains, you can wipe it with detergent;

Wine and perfume: To prevent them from spreading, sprinkle some salt on them first, then brush them off with a soft brush, and finally wipe them with a rag dipped in water or lotion or alcohol;

Signatures and markers: Different pens have different ways of cleaning. You can use vegetable oil, glass cleaning liquid or nail polish remover to remove them;

Blood: Wipe with paper and then with hydrogen peroxide. Blood that has been retained for too long can also be wiped off;

Rust: Rust removers sold in hardware stores are also effective for removing rust from wool;

Mold and mud: After they are dry, use a brush to remove them, then use a vacuum cleaner to remove them. Finally, use alcohol or detergent to completely remove them.

Hair dye: can be removed with a weak alkali. Wipe with a wet, wrung-out towel and soap. Please note: using hydrogen peroxide will make the hair dye more difficult to remove. The "first liquid" of a perm can also be removed.

How to maintain cashmere sweaters when not wearing them

When not wearing cashmere sweaters, do not hang them on the cabinet like other clothes. Fold the sweaters and place them flat in a box or bag. Avoid light, keep them ventilated and dry, pay attention to mildew and moth prevention, and store them after cleaning. Wear cashmere sweaters instead of underwear such as autumn clothes to reduce wear and tear, thereby shortening the service life.
