Is facial soap a soap base? How to use facial soap?

Facial soap is used to clean the face. Many people like to wash their faces with facial soap. Facial soap has a strong cleansing effect. It washes super clean and has a strong oil control effect. It is very suitable for oily skin.

Is facial soap a soap base?

Most soaps are made of soap bases, but a few are not, such as Dove soap and DHC moisturizing crystal soap, which use surfactants. People have too many misunderstandings about facial cleansing soaps. Facial cleansing soaps with moderate alkalinity are actually several times more effective than amino acids, and they are also very comfortable to wash without hurting the skin. Ordinary soaps are alkaline, while the skin is weakly acidic. Using soap will destroy the weakly acidic environment of the skin. Using it for a long time will hurt the skin. Most facial cleansers are weakly acidic and will not harm the acidic mucous membrane (there is a layer of weakly acidic mucous membrane on the surface of our skin). Soap can be used on oily skin, but not on dry skin. The cleaning effect of soap is indeed better than that of facial cleansers, but it is also more irritating.

How to use facial soap

The correct way to use facial soap is to use a foaming net to create foam, then squeeze out the foam to wash your face. It is not to be used directly on the face, similar to squeezing facial cleanser into the hands and rubbing it to create foam before applying it to the face. Facial soap is somewhat irritating and needs to be foamed before use, because the foam can maximize the cleaning effect of the facial soap and reduce the irritation of the facial soap. Facial soap needs water to foam. If you apply it directly to the face and rub it to create foam, the facial soap will absorb moisture from the skin, causing the skin to become drier and drier. First wet the facial skin with water, put the facial soap into a clean foaming net, wet the foaming net, rub the foaming net with both hands until foaming, squeeze the foam on the foaming net into the palm of your hand, then evenly apply it to your face, massage in circles with your hands for a few minutes, and rinse with clean water. However, the foaming net cannot directly contact the facial skin. Facial soap cannot be used directly on the face because it is very irritating and will absorb moisture. The foaming net cannot be used on the face because it is too rough and will damage the skin. The foaming net is a mesh material. In order to produce foam as quickly as possible, its texture is relatively rough and the friction is high. Using the foaming net to wipe the face directly will damage the facial skin, so the foam on the foaming net should be squeezed onto the hands.

Not all cleansers are called soap-based

Soap-based cleansers, as the name implies, are cleansing products containing saponified ingredients. The advantages are strong foaming power, easy rinsing, and simple formula. The disadvantage is that the pH value is higher than the normal value of the skin, which can easily cause dryness. However, there are very few pure soap-based cleansers on the market now, and most of them are compounded with other surfactants. Excellent formulas and good craftsmanship can reduce the irritation of soap-based cleansers, and have excellent cleaning power and outstanding washing feeling. This is why luxury cleansers such as CPB Cleansing Cream and Time Glass are still using soap-based formulas.

How to judge soap-based cleansing

Soap-based cleansing ingredients are usually composed of fatty acids + sodium hydroxide, that is, oil + alkali. If fatty acids + alkali agents appear in the ingredient list at the same time, it is a saponification formula. For example, myristic acid, lauric acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, sodium hydroxide, etc. The excellence of soap base in cleaning effect is unmatched by most surfactants. As long as it is used properly, soap-based cleansing products are also very safe. Oily acne skin can use soap-based cleansing products every other day to help dissolve excess sebum and prevent pores from being clogged; dry skin and dull skin can be used 1-2 times a week for deep cleansing to remove old dead skin cells attached to the surface of the skin. In short, soap-based cleansing is more suitable for nighttime cleansing, and you can just pay attention to moisturizing after washing.
